What are the main pros and cons of a Job-Order Costing system?

Pros-I believe it is the most effective process for a manager in a company because of the strategic planning and goal setting behavior set up in working environment. A manager meets goals in all area accept for job growth and future benefit for any employee who would want to grow and promotable in the company which is my take as one of the main downward cause of Job-order system.

2. What do you think would be the greatest challenge in maintaining a Job-Order Costing system for a manufacturing company?

I think the biggest challenge will be the ability for companies to keep employees whom are passionate and driven. A company who’s successful in the Job-Order Costing System may accomplish their goals in a short term but long term profitability of the business will short live. I see Job Order Costing System as a technical system that is great to have because it minimize the amount of re-work in employee performance and keeps them focus. However, employees will start to feel like machines and would like to see the company they are working for showing commitment and dedication to creating a working environment that supports their needs both personal and business.
